Michele Dempsey received her Bachelor of Arts in Engineering from Lafayette College and her Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania.  She has over a decade of experience as a practicing architect and opened the doors of DxDempsey in 2003. She opened the doors of DxDempsey in August of 2003. Prior to this, she gained her professional experience at the Philadelphia office of Bohlin Cywinski Jackson Architects and the Washington D.C. office of Beyer Blinder Belle Architects and Planners. Both of these firms have won the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Firm of the Year Award -- the highest honor bestowed on a firm by the organization.

She returned to Scranton, Pennsylvania in order to oversee the construction of a house she designed for her parents. Witnessing progress in motion and an opportunity to positively impact an area she loves, she started DxDempsey in Northeast Pennsylvania .

She has a breadth of experience that encompasses major government and academic buildings, space planning, office branding and fit-out, planning projects, and private residences. She values an interactive working relationship with her clients and strives not only for extraordinary design, but also for extraordinary client satisfaction.

Michele dedicates her time to the following: The Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce, The American Heart Association Board, Metro Action Board, LIFE Board, Historical Architectural Review Board. She is a regular guest critic at the University of Pennsylvania for the graduate and undergraduate architecture programs.  Michele also helped create and Co-Chaired “The Office” Convention, which had a great economic impact on Scranton and helped positively shift perceptions of the city.  She is passionate about green design and sustainable living and hosts a show on The570.com called “Evergreen”, which teaches people how to live a “green lifestyle” in a fun and entertaining format.
