DxDempsey was asked to design a house that would be clean, modern, and edgy. The desire was to let in natural light without having so much glass that would limit wall space for artwork. The clients felt strongly about their desire for space to display art. DxDempsey’s approach to the project considered “house as art gallery.” The house itself becomes an abstracted bank barn in this rural environment. The linear plan has minimal impact on the wooded site, and the intention is to make this a zero energy home.
