First Columbia’s Benton Branch was three feet underwater due to a flood in 2018. The goal was to transform this branch into a Strategic Branded Experience with brand consistency from the Bloomsburg branch. It was transformed from an old school traditional banking format to an open, inviting and engaging brand experience that includes feature walls with dynamic digital messaging and local artwork that highlights the bank’s commitment to the Benton community. Even the carpet was manufactured locally! The use of technology allows the drive-thru to be serviced from the branch, improving staff efficiency, and cash recyclers count money while Bank Specialists converse and connect with customers, learning how to help support them throughout their life stages. Courtesy seating areas invite customers to relax or to have an informal consultation regarding their financial needs over a cup of coffee.
